This Blog has the objective of collect informations about the Bertolin family’s history.

Identify the origins and register the history of these men and women that left Italy to begin a new life in America.

More than 130 years ago the family of Lorenzo Bertolin and Maria Magdalena Moresco arrived in Brazil. Their descendants spread over the whole country, that’s why we can easily find the name Bertolin in all regions of Brazil. We don’t know if all of the Bertolins belong to the same family, but maybe, with the internet and tools like this blog we can study and learn about our history or even approximate people.

The history of my family

Patriarchs:

Lorenzo Bertolin and his wife Maria Magdalena Moresco are the patriarchs that came from Italy to Brazil. They got married in Santa Maria Assunta Church in the city of Maróstica – Vicenza in 1854.

In December 31^st of 1877 they embarked in the ship Isabela and left Genoa bound for Brazil. In 26th January of 1878 they arrived in Rio de Janeiro. After that, they went to Dona Isabel colony in Rio grande do sul where installed themselves. Nowadays the colony Dona Isabel is called Bento Gonçalves. With them also came their children. Maria, Stella, Orázio, Luigia, Vittória e Alexandre. Maria was the oldest with 18 years old and Alexandre the youngest with 7 years old.

UM BERTOLIN COM UM PÉ NA GUERRA

Em 1930 o Brasil vivia  um período politico conturbado. Getúlio Vargas liderou a revolução que pôs fim à Republica velha. O país inteiro viveu momentos de aflição.
Os Jovens, em idade de prestar o serviço militar, deviam estar de prontidão. A qualquer momento poderiam ser chamados para engrossar os pelotões que dariam força aos novos ideais politicos que o Revolucionário gaúcho  Getúlio Dorneles Vargas liderava. Quem já estava nos batalhões cumprindo o serviço militar estava na iminência de marchar para o combate da revolução.
Meu avô GUERINO RINEO BERTOLIN viveu este tempo. Em 1930 ele iria completar 19 anos. Servia no 8o Regimento de Infantaria de Passo Fundo - RS.
Alí, como soldado,entre um treinamento e outro, vivia a expectativa de ser chamado para a frente de batalha. Os pelotões deveriam seguir de trem até Porto Alegre-RS.
Veio a  ordem: Todos de prontidão. O Jovem Guerino já imaginava o que viria pela frente, um tempo de guerra, de revolução, de luta para manter o país unido. Apostos na estação ferroviaria, pronto para  o que desse e viesse, aguardando apenas a hora do embarque. Derepente veio a mudança: Estava Dispensado ! Já havia  o contingente necessário. Guerino Rineo Bertolin estava dispensado. Continuaria no Regimento de Passo Fundo até  concluir o seu tempo.
Ao mesmo tempo que estava aliviado, retornava sem vivenciar  aqueles ideiais que norteavam a esperança de um novo tempo para  o Brasil.
